Welcome to The Sleep Space Training Academy

The Sleep Space Training Academy was created to train knowledgeable, confident and compassionate sleep consultants who can make a genuine difference to families, while building a rewarding career that works around their own lives.

Our approach goes beyond simply teaching sleep routines or following a set method. Children’s sleep is individual, and the families we support are individual too.

That’s why our training is rooted in understanding the science of sleep, child development and safe sleep, alongside the practical skills needed to assess each family’s circumstances and provide responsive, evidence-informed support.

We want our graduates to leave the academy understanding not only what they might recommend to a family, but why, giving them the confidence to think critically, adapt their approach and support families as individuals.

Great sleep support isn’t about memorising a method. It’s about understanding sleep, understanding families and having the confidence to bring the two together.

The SSTA Ethos

Evidence-Informed

Training grounded in sleep science, child development and current guidance, giving you the knowledge to understand not just what works, but why.

Because becoming a great sleep consultant isn’t about having one answer for every family. It’s about having the knowledge and confidence to find the right answer for the family in front of you.

A CAREER THAT FITS YOUR LIFE

Could this be the career for you?

Maybe you’re looking for a completely new direction. Perhaps you’ve had children and realised that the career you had before no longer fits the life you want now.

Maybe you already work with babies, children or families and want to expand your knowledge, your services and the ways you can support them.

Or perhaps you’ve simply reached a point where you’re ready to build something of your own, something rewarding, flexible and genuinely meaningful.

A career as a sleep consultant can give you the opportunity to use your knowledge to make a real difference to families, while creating a business that can grow and adapt around your own life.

You don’t need to have all the answers before you begin. That’s what the training is for

This course could be for you if you:

Want a flexible career that can work around family life

Are passionate about supporting babies, children and parents

Already work with families and want to expand your services

Want to build your own sleep consultancy

Are looking for meaningful work with the potential to grow

PROFESSIONAL SLEEP CONSULTANT TRAINING

Our comprehensive Sleep Consultant Training programme has been created to give you the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to support families with children’s sleep from birth through to five years.

You’ll learn the science behind sleep, how sleep develops and changes throughout early childhood, and how to assess sleep challenges from a whole-family perspective.

But knowledge alone doesn’t make a great sleep consultant.

Throughout your training, you’ll also learn how to take that knowledge and apply it to real families,  asking the right questions, identifying what may be contributing to a sleep challenge and creating individualised, responsive recommendations that families can realistically implement.

The aim isn’t for you to graduate knowing one sleep method.

It’s for you to graduate knowing how to think like a sleep consultant.

MEET YOUR TRAINER

Hi, I’m Chris

Founder of The Sleep Space Training Academy and The Little Cherry Tree Company

My career has always centred around supporting children and families.

Before becoming a sleep consultant, I spent almost a decade working within the NHS, gaining experience supporting families through some incredibly important and sometimes challenging stages of their lives.

I later took that experience into my own business, The Little Cherry Tree Company, and for almost a decade I have worked directly with families experiencing sleep challenges, from the everyday struggles that leave parents exhausted to more complex situations where there is rarely one simple answer.

Over the years, my work has grown beyond one-to-one sleep support. I have delivered training to professionals, worked alongside Family Hubs and supported services working directly with parents and children.

And it is those years of real-world experience that ultimately led me to create The Sleep Space Training Academy.

I wanted to create the kind of training I believe sleep consultants need: not simply information to memorise or a particular method to follow, but the knowledge to understand sleep, the skills to assess the whole family and the confidence to make informed professional decisions.

Because when you’re sitting opposite a real parent who is exhausted and asking you for help, families don’t always fit neatly into a textbook.

I want you to finish your training feeling ready for that conversation.

Why I created SSTA

Becoming a sleep consultant didn’t just give me a career I love. It gave me the opportunity to build a business around my life and my family, rather than constantly trying to fit my life around my work.

That doesn’t mean running a business is always easy — it isn’t. But it has given me flexibility, independence and the opportunity to build something of my own while doing work that genuinely matters to me.

I created SSTA because I want other people to have the opportunity to do the same.

Whether you’re starting again after having children, looking for more flexibility, adding sleep support to an existing career or simply ready for something new, I want to give you both the professional knowledge and the practical foundations to take that next step with confidence.

What could a sleep consultancy look like financially?

Building a sleep consultancy can look different for everyone.

Some consultants choose to work with a small number of families each week around their children or another job. Others build a full-time consultancy, while some combine one-to-one support with workshops, courses, group programmes.

How much you earn will depend on your pricing, the number of clients you work with, the services you offer and the time you choose to put into your business.

But it can be helpful to see what the numbers might look like.

**Illustrative examples**

Starting Small

2 clients per week

£250 × 2 clients × 4 weeks

£2,000 monthly revenue

An example of building a consultancy gradually around existing work or family commitments.

Growing Your Business

4 clients per week

£250 × 4 clients × 4 weeks

£4,000 monthly revenue

Working with approximately four families each week while continuing to build your reputation and client base.

An Established Caseload

6 clients per week

£250 × 6 clients × 4 weeks

£6,000 monthly revenue

An example of a more established one-to-one consultancy.

The figures above are illustrative examples of potential business revenue and are not earnings guarantees. Actual revenue and profit will vary depending on pricing, client numbers, business costs, demand, marketing and other individual circumstances.
